The Juvenile Diversion Alternative Program provides diversion services to youth involved in the criminal justice system. JDAP accepts referrals for low-risk youth offenders made by the Department of Juvenile Justice and have been approved by State Attorney’s office and the Circuit Judge. The program aims to maintain public safety, minimize risk of participants from becoming repeat offenders, and reducing the need for secure juvenile detention facilities.
JDAP strives to influence youth to remain crime free by
• Scheduling, supervision and monitoring of compliance with required sanctions including community service, curfew and restitution
• Conducting randomized drug testing for youth who are at risk or have a history of substance abuse
• Referral to individual, group and/or family counseling
• Providing educational and vocational services to age appropriate youth
