Family Intensive Treatment (FIT) Team

The Family Intensive Treatment (FIT) team provides intensive team-based, family-focused, comprehensive intervention services for high-risk families across the Big Bend that have become involved with the child welfare system due to parental substance abuse. Our team of counselors and peer support specialists employ a comprehensive program founded in supportive family engagement to provide routine screenings and assessments, individualized service plans, and support in treatment and recovery programs. This six-month program strives to reunify children with families, improve family relationships through increased skills education and decreased substance use, increase the child’s safety, and reduce the likelihood of re-entry into the child welfare system.

Individuals and families who meet eligibility requirements can be recommended or referred to the FIT Team through a Child Protective Investigator, Dependency Case Manager, community based care lead agency, Family Intervention Services provider, or the dependency court system.
