Children & Family Services

The Selected Family Interventions (SFI) program provides in home intervention services to low and high risk families with various needs who are experiencing challenges with substance use, anger management, parenting, mental health, abuse and/or neglect. The program uses an in home service model with evidenced based practices for treatment services targeted to prevent youth from being removed from the family.

Recognizing that a “one-size-fits-all” model is not the most effective or efficient way to provide interventions to families with varied needs, the Selective Family Interventions program tailors family sessions to meet specific needs in a flexible approach. A vast assortment of research based interventions are selected, packaged and delivered in a framework that helps develop and sustain a positive family environment.

The program serves families in Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, and Wakulla counties. The program works in conjunction with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families and Big Bend Community Based Care. Child Protective Investigators who respond to reports of child abuse and/or neglect are the primary referral source.
